Zbigniew JAKUBEK (Poland) - keyboard
Mr. Jakubek graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice in the department of jazz and pop music. He is a professional piano player and music arranger.
He has been acting since 1983 in many music groups and formations as the instrumentalist and arranger. He takes part in many studio productions as a sideman.
Mr. Jakubek is the most recognizable with the Polish formation "Walk Away", in which he had been playing for 12 years.
From the very beginning of his carrier he was bound with so-called "big bands", orchestras and with the Warsaw Chamber Orchestra among others.
Concerning the Polish scene, there are many famous musicians who used to work with him; such as: Scieranski, Lewandowski, Raduli, Napiorkowski, Konrad, Dabrowka, Pilichowski, Grabowy, Maseli, etc.
Mr. Jakubek also cooperated with many foreign musicians like Eric Marienthal, Frank Gambale, Mino Cinelu, Nippy Noya, Dave Fiuczynski, Susan and Martin Weinert.
He worked with jazz, soul and rock singers.
Currently, he is a founder and member of quartet consisted of such instrumentalists as Scieranski, Napiorkowski, Dabrowka and Jakubek as well. He has also been working with the Polish pop star Ryszard Rynkowski for last six years.
The carrier of Zbigniew Jakubek is enriched with vast choice of compositions, arrangements and several dozen records.
The VBB is the next international formation that Mr. Jakubek cooperates with.
In the meantime he works as a lecturer of music improvisation at the University of Rzeszow.
