Peter LIPA (Slovakia) - vocal

The most important person in slovak jazz. Singer, composer, leader, promoter, speaker, manager of jazz life. In the charts of International jazz federation magazine Jazz Forum was he in the 80-ties regularly placed in the top 5 of the european jazz singers. His roots are blues, soul and classical mainstream.

The early attention of the audiences he´d won as a singer with his first band BLUES FIVE at the 2nd Czechoslovak beat festival in Prague 1968.
In early 70-s he starded to sing with dixieland oriented bands REVIVAL JAZZ BAND and later T+R BAND.
Beginning of 80-ies he is a co-founder of the well known czecho - slovak LIPA - ANDRST Blues Band. Parallely works with his own band named first PL Combo and later simply Band.

During his almost 40 years musical carier he has performed on different stages in different countries and continents. Just to mention a few - Stockholm(S), Zurich, Montreux (CH), Hannover, Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg (D), Pori (FIN), Moscow (RUS), Malaga, Granada (E), Lisboa(P), London (GB), OSLO (N), Erevan(ARM), Sacramento CA.(USA), Mexico city (MEX) and more.

He started his recording carrier when he was almost 40. Untill today he has recorded over 20 CD´s and LP´s, mostly for local companies OPUS and Supraphon and later for BMG and EmArcy - internationaly distributed BOOGIE UP. His Last CD is BEATLES IN BLUE(S), a16 cover versions of the old Beatles tunes.
